2012 PerthMint Australian Lunar Series II - Year of the Dragon 1oz Silver Red Coloured coin
Portraying 2012's design from the Australian lunar silver coin series II, this coin celebrates the dragon, the fifth of the twelve animals associated with the ancient Chinese lunar calendar.
Stunning dragon reverse design
The reverse of the coin depicts a blue dragon with a representation of a pearl. The colour blue is deeply significant, representing the healing element of water, prosperity, eternity and peace. The Chinese character for 'dragon' and the inscription YEAR OF THE DRAGON also appear in the design with The Perth mint's traditional 'P' mintmark.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin's obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2012 year-date. No more than 5,000 of these ANDA Sydney coin show specials were released.

- 99.9% pure silver
